With 6D/5N Similan-Richelieu-Surin liveaboard diving cruises & 4D/3N Similan-Richelieu diving safaris available from late October to early May, and Burma diving safaris a monthly option between January and April - guests have the choice of three really good Andaman sea diving liveaboard itineraries!

During all Similan Islands liveaboard itineraries, in between diving the top Thailand dive sites, guests will have some time to visit the islands and explore short jungle trails or relax on stunning deserted beaches – one of the best parts of any Similans diving liveaboard holiday!

  • Dolphin Queen SIMILANS-RICHELIEU-SURIN Liveaboard Trip Schedule (all diving safaris start and finish at Tap Lamu Pier, Khao Lak, Phang Nga)

    Departs around 18.30pm, 1st day from Tap Lamu Pier, Khao Lak, Phang Nga

    For all Similan diving safaris courtesy transfers are ONLY available from Khao Lak Hotels (NOT Phuket Hotels) at set times on the day of departure. Therefore if guests are staying in Phuket - they will need to arrive at the liveaboard office in Khao Lak no later than 14.00pm. Free transfers to the affordable Similan liveaboard MV Dolphin Queen are then available for all guests from the Khao Lak diving liveaboard office.

    Returns around 16.00pm, last day Tap Lamu Pier, Khao Lak, Phang Nga

    After arriving back in Port and saying ciao to the Dolphin Queen crew and fellow passengers, free transfers are available to the liveaboard office in Khao Lak from this low cost Thailand liveaboard.

    Last dive ends by 15.00pm on the last day

    Please note that in observing flying after diving recommendations, that on the last day guests will not be able to participate in dives 17 and 18 – if they are flying on the same day this value for money Similan Islands diving liveaboard arrives back in Port.

    If guests are on a tight time schedule and cannot do a 6D/5N Similan & Surin Islands diving trip, then MV Dolphin Queen also offer a 4D/3N Similan-Richelieu dive cruise.

    The 4 days/3 nights itinerary offers the same daily dive timetable as the 6 days/5 nights trip described previously, but results in 2 days/2 nights less onboard and eight fewer dives. One additional notable difference is that guests will also not get to dive the Surin Islands or have a chance to visit the resident Moken Sea gypsies on the 4D/3N Similan diving safaris.

    That said - this slightly shorter tour duration still allows budget Thailand divers to experience the true beauty and very best scuba diving Thailand has to offer!

    Departure Day = (0 dives) Land transfers to this bargain Thailand liveaboard are only provided from Khao Lak Hotels & the liveaboard office. Guests will board MV Dolphin Queen with a very warm welcome at around 16.30pm, followed by boat crew & dive staff introduction, cabin allocation, boat/safety briefing and equipment assembly time! Dinner will then be served onboard, before this low price Similan liveaboard sets sail at around 18.30pm on her overnight journey to the Similan Islands!

    Day 1 = (4 dives) At some the best Similan Islands dive sites – including night diving Similan Islands with a night/dusk dive!

    Day 2 = (4 dives) At the top dive sites of the Similans. Dusk/night dive.

    Day 3 = (4 dives) The day begins in the beautiful Similan Islands, followed by one dive at Koh Bon & one dive at Tachai – the number one Manta Ray dive sites Thailand has to offer.

    Day 4 = (4 dives) At the 5 star Surin Islands, which perhaps have some of the best corals Thailand has to showcase. Guests can also usually visit a traditional Sea gypsy village of the Moken people on Koh Surin Tai.     Kindly be advised that in order to meet flying after diving recommendations, that guests will not be permitted to do the last 2 dives on the final day – if they are taking a flight within 18 hours of this budget Khao Lak liveaboard returning to Port.

    Departure Day = (0 dives) Transfers are only provided from Khao Lak Hotels and the liveaboard office to this cheap Thailand diving liveaboard – with guests boarding Dolphin Queen at around 16.30pm. Upon embarkation passengers will receive a warm welcome, dive & boat crew introduction, safety/boat briefing and be shown to their cabins. Equipment set-up will be done just before dinner, after which time this bargain Similan Islands liveaboard will be begin her journey at around 18.30pm and sail under the stars to the Similans!

    Day 1 = (4 dives) At the very best dive sites Similan Islands has to offer and guests will also do some Similans night diving for 4th dive of the day!

    Day 2 = (4 dives) Manta Ray diving Thailand hopefully, with dives @Koh Bon and Tachai, which are the best dive sites to see Manta Rays! This will be followed by 2 dives at the world class Thailand dive site Richelieu Rock – regarded by many as one of the best places for Thailand Whale shark diving (you need to be very lucky though!).

    Day 3 = (2 dives) Where with good luck it may be possible to dive with Manta Rays at Koh Bon/Tachai - two of the top Thailand Manta Ray cleaning stations! MV Dolphin Queen will then sail for Port, arriving at Tap Lamu Pier between 15.00 – 17.00pm.     Departs around 13.00pm, 1st Day from Ranong Pier, Ranong Province

    On the day of departure transfers from Khao Lak & Ranong Hotels ONLY (NOT Phuket Hotels) are provided without cost.  If guests are residing in Phuket, then they will need to self-transfer to the liveaboard office in Khao Lak for 07.00am, from where gratis transfers are provided for all guests to the cheap Burma liveaboard MV Dolphin Queen.

    Returns around 15.00pm, last day Tap Lamu Pier, Khao Lak, Phang Nga

    Upon disembarkation it will be time to say goodbye to new acquaintances & the Crew on MV Dolphin Queen. From this economy Burma liveaboard gratis transfers are then provided to the Khao Lak liveaboard office.

    Last dive ends around lunch time on the last day.

    Please note that in accordance with flying after diving recommendations, 

    which stipulate a minimum pre-flight surface interval of 18 hours – that after guests disembark this good value Burma diving liveaboard they cannot fly until the following day.

    Departure Day = (0 dives). All guests should arrive at the liveaboard office in Khao Lak by 07.00am.  The order of the day will involve checking in & equipment fitting – with guests then being transferred at 09.00am via air-con minivan up to Ranong, where the budget Myanmar liveaboard MV Dolphin Queen is awaiting.  Upon obtaining an exit stamp from Thai Immigration, guests will board at around 13.30pm.  The usual boat boarding formalities will then be completed, before this bargain Burma liveaboard makes the short journey over to Kawthoung, Myanmar.  Here guests will pass through Myanmar Immigration and obtain an entry stamp, before sailing into the afternoon sunshine/sunset.  Dinner is served before cruising overnight to the Mergui Archipelago.

    Day 2 = (4 dives) at the 5 star Burma dive sites “3 Islets” where it is sometimes possible to do Burma shark diving at Shark Cave with Nurse Sharks!  Beach time between dives, followed by some awesome Mergui night diving!

    Day 3 = (4 dives).  World class Burma liveaboard diving at Black Rock.

    Day 4 = (4 dives).  Excellent Mergui diving at North Twin & South Twin, followed by a Burma dusk dive.

    Day 5 = (4 dives) in the vicinity of five star Burma Banks, with the day ending with either a dusk dive/Burma night diving.

    Day 6 = (4 dives). The first dive of the day will be at the top Burma dive site Fan Forest Pinnacle, followed by 3 dives at Stewart Island, Rainbow Rock and Candy Canyon.

    Day 7 = (4 dives) at one of the best Myanmar dive sites Western Rocky.

    Day 8 = (1 dive).  On the last day of this low cost Myanmar liveaboard, guests will do some quality Burma scuba diving at Shark Lagoon, before arriving at Kawthoung around 13.30pm to obtain a Myanmar Immigration exit stamp.  After receiving an entry stamp from Thai Immigration into Thailand, it will be an overnight departure from Ranong to the Surin Islands.

    Day 9 = (4 dives). The first dive of the day will be at the Surin Islands with their amazing hard corals, followed by 2 dives at perhaps Thailand’s best dive site Richelieu Rock, before ending the day with a Thailand night dive at Koh Tachai.

    Day 10 = (2 dives) at Koh Tachai & Koh Bon, which are two of the best Thailand dive sites to see Manta Rays if lady luck is on your side...... This budget Burma-Thailand liveaboard will then set sail for Tap Lamu Pier - arriving between 15.00pm - 17.00pm.   • COVID-19 Thailand Travel Information

    From the 1st of July 2022 onwards – visitors will only be required to show proof of their vaccination history when entering the Kingdom of Thailand. If you are unable to provide either proof of your vaccination history OR a negative ATK test result, then you can still gain entry into Thailand, but may be subject to an on arrival ATK test.

    Please Note:

    You are personally responsible for making sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months, has enough available pages, is in good order and that you are allowed to enter the Kingdom of Thailand. If you are unsure please check with your local Thai Consulate.

    At the time of writing (July 2022) Citizens from MOST (but not all) countries in Europe, North America, Oceania and South East Asia are eligible to enter Thailand without a visa for up to 30 days.

    However Citizens from some Countries/Territories may only be granted stays for up to 15 days, or may be required to obtain a Tourist Visa before arriving in Thailand. Visitors are therefore strongly advised to check with their local Thai Consulate if in doubt.

    If you are unsure of your Thai Visa requirements – then please double check with your local Thai Consulate.

    Proof of onward travel and sufficient funds for the duration of your stay may be required by Thai Immigration on arrival.

    At their discretion - Immigration officials may ask you for proof of onward travel (i.e. a confirmed return or onward air ticket out of Thailand). They may also ask you to provide evidence that you have sufficient funds for the duration of your stay, which is deemed to be at least 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per Family (or equivalent in another currency) for Visa on Arrival visitors.

    *For ALL Burma diving liveaboard trips – Burma Entry Fees are presently US$350 per person (payable in cash in US$ ONLY).  

    Additionally, if you are a citizen from a Country/Territory that requires you to have a Thai Visa to enter the Kingdom of Thailand, then you will need to obtain a Double Entry Visa before arriving in Thailand – because on all Burma liveaboard trips you will be leaving the country.

    If you are unsure of your Thai Visa requirements – then please double check with your local Thai Consulate.

    Scuba Diving Insurance is highly recommended on ALL Dolphin Queen liveaboard dive safaris. It is suggested that you obtain comprehensive travel insurance. If you do NOT have comprehensive travel insurance or diving insurance then you strongly advised to purchase your own comprehensive scuba diving, accident, medical, baggage and trip cancellation/interruption insurance in advance of joining your Andaman Sea liveaboard diving cruise.

    Dive computers - although not mandatory are highly recommended on ALL Dolphin Queen liveaboard dive trips for safety. If you do not have a dive computer then you can rent one onboard.
